What this policy covers

TresPrompt is a Chrome extension that helps you turn short prompts into clearer, more effective instructions on ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. This policy describes how we handle information when you use the extension and when you visit our website, tresprompt.com.

We wrote it in plain language so you know exactly what happens to your words when you click Optimize—and what does not happen in the background.

What we collect

The extension only reads the prompt text you have typed in the input field at the moment you click the Optimize button. It does not read anything else on the page—no chat history you did not submit, no other tabs, and no browsing activity.

Nothing is sent to our servers unless you explicitly click Optimize. Passive browsing is never captured.

We do not collect personally identifiable information through the extension, and there are no user accounts at this time. In a planned future update, free-tier rate limiting might temporarily use your IP address for usage counting; that is not implemented today.

What we do with it

When you click Optimize, the extension sends that prompt text to our backend at https://www.tresprompt.com/api/optimize. Our server forwards the text to Anthropic's Claude API to generate an optimized version. The result is sent back through our API to the extension and shown to you.

Anthropic may log or process requests according to their own practices. You can read how they handle data in their privacy policy: anthropic.com/legal/privacy.

What we don't collect

We do not collect your name, email, or other personally identifiable information through the extension. We do not read your browsing history, track where you go online, or run analytics or tracking pixels inside the extension. The extension does not use cookies for measurement or advertising.

We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to any third party for advertising.

Data retention

We do not store the prompts you submit or the optimized results in any database. The text passes through our system so we can call Anthropic and return the answer to you, and it is not kept afterward on our side.

Third-party services

Anthropic processes the prompt text when we forward it to the Claude API. Their privacy policy: anthropic.com/legal/privacy.

Beehiiv powers email waitlist signups on tresprompt.com when you choose to subscribe. Beehiiv receives the information you submit there (such as your email) under their own terms. Their privacy policy: beehiiv.com/privacy.

Your rights

You can uninstall the Chrome extension at any time. That stops all data flow from the extension to our servers. We do not maintain a profile or account for extension users, so uninstalling ends our connection to you from the product side.

Children

TresPrompt is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top is the source of truth for the current version. If we make material changes, we will note them on this website.
