What this policy covers

TresPrompt is a Chrome extension and web service that optimizes AI prompts, organizes conversations into folders, provides full-text search across cached conversations, and exports chat content — across ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. This policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use the extension and when you visit our website, tresprompt.com.

What we collect

Through the Chrome Extension

Prompt text (when you click Optimize): The extension reads the prompt text you have typed in the chat input field at the moment you click the Optimize button or press the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+O). No text is read or sent without your explicit action.

Conversation content (for local caching and search): When you visit a conversation on ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini, the extension reads the visible messages on the page and stores them locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local. This cached content enables full-text search and folder export features. This data never leaves your browser — it is not sent to our servers or any third party.

Folder and organization data: When you create folders, subfolders, and organize conversations, this data is stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local. This data is not sent to our servers.

Prompt history: When you optimize a prompt, the original and optimized versions are saved locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local (up to 200 entries depending on your plan). This data is not sent to our servers.

Authentication credentials: When you sign in to your TresPrompt account and connect the extension, an access token and refresh token are stored in chrome.storage.local to authenticate API requests and maintain your session across browser restarts. Your email address is also stored locally so the extension can display your account information. These credentials are used solely to verify your identity and subscription tier.

Through the Website (tresprompt.com)

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name via Google OAuth or email/password sign-up. This is stored in our authentication provider, Supabase.

Subscription and payment information: When you subscribe to a paid plan, your payment is processed by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status in our database. We do not store your credit card number, bank account details, or other payment credentials — Stripe handles all payment data directly.

Usage data: We track the number of prompt optimizations you perform each day to enforce plan limits. This count is stored in our Supabase database and is associated with your user ID.

Usage statistics: We collect anonymized feature usage counts (number of optimizations, searches, folders created, and templates used) for logged-in users to improve the product. This data is linked to your account but does not include the content of your prompts, conversations, or search queries.

Newsletter subscription: If you subscribe to our newsletter, your email address is shared with Beehiiv, our email service provider, to deliver emails.

How we use your data

Prompt optimization: When you click Optimize, the prompt text is sent from the extension to our server at https://www.tresprompt.com/api/optimize. Our server forwards the text to third-party AI services (DeepSeek as the primary provider, xAI as the backup provider, and Anthropic as the fallback provider) to generate an optimized version. The optimized result is returned to you. We do not store the prompt text or the optimized result on our servers after the request is completed.

Authentication and plan management: Your email and account information are used to manage your subscription, enforce usage limits, and provide account features.

Local features: Conversation caching, folder organization, search, export, prompt history, and prompt templates all operate entirely within your browser using chrome.storage.local. None of this data is sent to our servers or any third party.

How we store your data

In your browser (chrome.storage.local):Cached conversations, folders, subfolders, conversation assignments, pinned messages, conversation notes, custom templates, prompt history, favorites, user preferences (language, tone, style, length, context memory), authentication tokens, and tier data. This data persists until you uninstall the extension or clear your browser's extension data.

In our database (Supabase, hosted in US East): Email address, display name, subscription tier, daily usage counts, Stripe customer ID, and subscription status. This data is retained as long as your account exists.

In Stripe: Payment and subscription data is stored and processed by Stripe under their security standards (PCI DSS Level 1). We do not have access to your full payment credentials.

All third parties we share data with

DeepSeek — receives your prompt text when you click Optimize as the primary AI provider. DeepSeek processes this data under their own privacy policy: cdn.deepseek.com/policies/en-US/deepseek-privacy-policy-2025-02-14.html.

xAI — may receive your prompt text when you click Optimize as a backup AI provider. xAI processes this data under their own privacy policy: x.ai/legal/privacy-policy.

Anthropic — may receive your prompt text when you click Optimize as a fallback AI provider. Anthropic processes this data under their own privacy policy: anthropic.com/legal/privacy.

Supabase — provides authentication and database services. Stores your account information (email, display name, subscription tier, usage data). Privacy policy: supabase.com/privacy.

Stripe — processes payments for paid subscriptions. Receives your payment information directly (we never see your full card number). Privacy policy: stripe.com/privacy.

Beehiiv — delivers newsletter emails if you subscribe. Receives your email address. Privacy policy: beehiiv.com/privacy.

Vercel— hosts our website and API. API requests pass through Vercel's infrastructure. Privacy policy: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any other third party. We do not share data for advertising purposes.

What we do NOT collect

We do not read your browsing history or track your activity across websites. We do not read chat content from pages you are not actively viewing. We do not use cookies, analytics, or tracking pixels inside the extension. We do not access other tabs or browser data. The extension does not collect any data passively — all data collection requires your explicit action (clicking Optimize, visiting a conversation, creating a folder, etc.).

Data retention

Prompt text: Not retained on our servers. Text passes through our API to DeepSeek as the primary provider, xAI as the backup provider, or Anthropic as the fallback provider, and the result is returned to you. Nothing is stored after the response is delivered.

Account data: Retained as long as your account exists. You can request deletion by contacting us.

Local data (extension): Retained in your browser until you uninstall the extension or clear extension data.

Usage counts: Daily optimization counts are stored per day and retained for plan enforcement.

Your rights and choices

Uninstall the extension at any time to stop all data collection by the extension. Local data stored in chrome.storage.local will be removed when you uninstall.

Disconnect the extension from your account via the extension popup or the account page at tresprompt.com/account. This removes the stored authentication token.

Delete your account by contacting us at support@tresprompt.com. We will remove your account data from our database and cancel any active subscription.

Manage your subscription through the Stripe Customer Portal, accessible from your account page.

Unsubscribe from the newsletter using the unsubscribe link in any email.

Children

TresPrompt is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
